I never found Google Street View to be of much use to me, until a few days ago when it blew my mind (disclaimer: it’s not very difficult for my mind to be blown). Not only can you view Douglas Coupland’s exhibit “everywhere is anywhere is anything is everything”, but you can jump back in time as well. By using the timeline option, I was able to revisit places that have been torn down and examine the changes my neighbourhood is currently undergoing. I muttered various Oh right’s and Hmmm’s as I remembered areas I used to walk by after school. I’m curious to continue exploring more past-visited places, whether they have disappeared or are still standing.
