Since I started shooting black and white film, the way I see the world has changed. To begin with, I can do everything myself, from developing to scanning. The chemicals are accessible and all you have to do is follow the recipe step by step in order for your negatives to turn out. Not only has it changed my workflow but it has also changed the way I look through my viewfinder. I look for contrasts not colors, I focus more on composing than capturing the moment, and I have no need to edit because what appears on the strip of 35mm film is already the final product. Here is an assortment of black and white photos from my trip to the desert.
